Meet the Founder
I'm Michelle Anthony-Desir. I am the principal attorney at Athena Law. My mission is to provide legal services where complex legal processes are simplified so that my clients feel empowered and confident in their decision-making. Over the course of a career spanning just over two decades, I have had the opportunity to hone my legal skills in a multitude of practice areas in the law, to have handled complex multi-million dollar transactions, and to have served both commercial and individual clients from all over the world. It is this range of experience that now allows me to focus on a few key areas of the law and to create a distinctive client experience. I studied law at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, graduating with a Bachelor of Law degree and studied for the Bar at the Hugh Wooding Law School where I graduated in 1996 with a Legal Education Certificate. From 1996 I have been engaged in private practice on the island, first through Anthony & Associates, then through the Chambers of Chong & Co until December 2004, and most recently the law firm of Du Boulay Anthony & Co where I was a founding partner.

My legal career has allowed me the opportunity to engage with clients with diverse needs and to partner with them to create solutions specific to their needs. While my practice over the years has been a mixed civil practice, I have, in more recent years, focused on conveyancing, corporate and commercial transactions. As a qualified mediator, I am a proponent of alternative resolution mechanisms and a believer in creating innovative solutions. There is no one-size-fits-all. I am an active member of the Saint Lucia Bar Association and have previously served as Secretary and Vice President. I have served for a number of years as Chairman of the Board of Tapion School Limited, a private school on the island. When I am not in office, I can be found taking walks on the beach or dreaming up new recipes in my kitchen or just hanging out with my son and daughter.
